How I can help your family
Play therapy, parent support, and practical tools — all centered on your child.
What I help with
Families come to Ad Astra Therapy for many reasons. A few of the most common:
Emotional well-being
- Anxiety
- Trauma
- Grief & loss
- Self-esteem
- Perfectionism
Behavior & everyday life
- Behavioral challenges
- Oppositional defiance
- Coping skills
- Peer relationships
Transitions & family change
- Divorce & family transitions
- Life transitions
- Parenting support
Don't see your family's situation listed? Reach out anyway — and if your child's needs fall outside what I'm able to support, I'll help you connect with a provider who's the right fit.
My approach
I draw on a few complementary, evidence-informed approaches — always centered on your child and adjusted to what your family needs.
CCPT
Child-Centered Play Therapy
Play is how children naturally process their world. In a warm, consistent playroom, your child leads the way while I help them build the words, skills, and confidence to work through what's hard.
SFBT
Solution Focused Brief Therapy
A practical, strengths-based approach that helps kids and families notice what's already working and build on it, so progress feels achievable rather than overwhelming.
CPRT
Child Parent Relationship Therapy
A parent-focused model that teaches caregivers play-therapy skills to use at home, strengthening the parent-child bond and giving you real tools between sessions.

What a first session looks like
- 1
You reach out
Send an email with your child's age, a general sense of what's going on, and your availability.
- 2
We talk it through
I'll respond to schedule a brief conversation or an initial parent consultation to learn more about your family and answer your questions.
- 3
Your child meets the playroom
Your child's first session is about building comfort and trust — getting to know the space, the toys, and me at their own pace.
- 4
We build a rhythm together
From there, we settle into regular sessions, with parent consultations along the way to keep you informed and involved.
